Hey, I’m Twylla Curto

I am the founder of TLC Respite and Wellness. What started as a lifelong passion for helping others, has grown into a business rooted in compassion, dignity, and genuine connection.

From a young age, supporting others has always felt like part of who I am. My Aunt had a baby girl who was diagnosed with an extremely rare disease. My sweet cousin passed away at the age of seven, and I was just twelve. I will always remember her beautiful face, long luscious brown hair and her unforgettable laugh. She left a lasting impression on my heart and helped shape the compassion I carry with me today.

When I was nineteen years old, I came across a small newspaper ad looking for a Personal Support Worker. Even though I had no experience at the time, I followed my instincts and applied. I was hired and trained to support someone who would become one of the most important people in my life. Over twenty years later, he is still one of my closest friends. I had the privilege of working alongside him for over a decade, and our connection has never faded. That relationship truly showed me the power of trust, consistency, and genuine care.

Over the years, I have been incredibly fortunate to support many individuals and families, each one teaching me something meaningful and helping shape the person and caregiver I am today. These experiences didn’t just become a career, they became my calling.

TLC Respite and Wellness was created straight from the heart. It reflects my lifelong passion for supporting others, building relationships, and helping people feel respected, valued, and understood.

“I’ve been Twylla’s client for almost 8 years and she has taken me on several adventures around the GTA such as tubing high climbing and teaching me new skills like cooking getting my own food and more she has made me a better me I’m so thankful for her she is the reason I am who I am today”

WHY I STARTED TLC RESPITE

After more than 25 years of working closely with individuals and families, I saw firsthand how much caregivers give of themselves every single day. I also saw how difficult it can be to find care that feels trustworthy, consistent, and truly compassionate.

Starting TLC Respite and Wellness was my way of changing that.

I wanted to create a space where families could feel confident that their loved ones are not only safe, but cared for with patience, kindness, and understanding, and where caregivers can take a step back and breathe, knowing they’re supported too.

A PERSONAL PROMISE

When you choose TLC, you’re not just receiving a service, you’re welcoming someone into your home who genuinely cares.

My promise is to treat every individual with the same level of respect, compassion, and attention I would want for my own family. I believe in taking the time to build trust, create meaningful connections, and ensure every person feels valued, comfortable, and supported.

Because to me, this isn’t just work, it’s a commitment to care.
